In-Kind Spotlight

Southwest Airlines

The Mission Continues is proud to call Southwest Airlines our Official Airline.  Since 2008, Southwest has supported The Mission Continues with both airline tickets and cash donations. The tickets they have donated over the last five years have enabled us to bring Fellows from around the country together for their Fellow Class Orientations and our annual Veterans Day Gala. In 2012, Southwest's in-kind support saved our organization $140,000. The Mission Continues looks forward to our continued partnership with Southwest Airlines.

Fund-A-Fellowship Spotlight

John Rutherford

After learning about The Mission Continues at a luncheon in Houston, John Rutherford chose to fund a fellowship for a veteran continuing his or her service here at home. People across the country, with personal gifts of $10,000 or more, are providing fellowships for veterans that support strong transitions to civilian life, and strengthening our communities in the process. Gifts through our Fund-A-Fellowship program ensure that Mission Continues Fellows have the resources necessary to become citizen leaders here at home.

Individual Spotlight

Will Surbaugh

11-year old Will Surbaugh from Grand Marais, Minnesota, is an aspiring Navy SEAL and humanitarian. Inspired by the life story of Founder and CEO Eric Greitens, and the work of The Mission Continues, Will set out in 2012 to raise enough money to fund one fellowship in his community through a push-up challenge.

In front of a crowd of 100 friends, family, and community members, Will crushed his goal of 500 push-ups, successfully completing 638 regulation push-ups in just one hour. His inspiring effort resulted in more than $12,000 raised for The Mission Continues, surpassing the amount needed to fund the fellowship.
